The Route Mapper allows you to map a route between a start and end point of your choice. It creates a map showing alternative fuel stations along the entire route and displays driving directions for the route with four options for displaying and printing the information. To use the Route Mapper, follow these steps:
The start point and end point type may be different. The start point could be your address and the end point could be a city or vise versa. "No Route found" will be displayed in the window should either the address or city go unfound. Check your addresses or cities and try again. Small towns or new streets may not be included in the Streetmap data used by the application.
A map showing your entire route will appear with a table of driving directions to your destination. You will see refueling stations (red triangles) along the route you have selected. To include a station as a stop on your route and add driving directions to the station, click the "Add Station to Route" button
in the map frame, and then click the red triangle icon for the station. The map and directions will be redrawn, and the station will be labeled with a number indicating it is a stop on the route.
NOTE: You should always call any station you plan to add to your route in advance to verify its location and hours of operation. Some stations in our database have addresses that could not be located by the Route Mapper application. Those stations are displayed in the center of the zip code area of the station. This may result in the station appearing in the wrong location on the map. So always call the station in advance if it doesn't appear to be in the correct location.
Below the map you will see the start and end addresses/cities, total distance and travel time of the route, and a table of segment by segment driving directions. Browse individual segments by clicking the Zoom button next to the segment. Your selected segment will appear in the map window.
Click the "Download to Palm" link above the table to get instructions on how to download the map and driving instructions to your Palm device.
There are other icons in the map frame and information tables. To learn what they represent, click Help
or run your mouse over them for a brief description.
